Playing within limits in New Zealand

Everything ranked on this site is for adults of 18 and over. A casino balance is entertainment spending, in the same bracket as a concert ticket, and never money owed to rent, power or a loan.

The signals worth watching are practical ones. Deposits creeping upward month after month, a session that runs past the time you meant to stop, playing to win back what yesterday cost you, or keeping the whole thing quiet from the people you live with. Any one of those is reason enough to set a cap.

Every casino on this page carries deposit limits, session reminders, time-outs and self-exclusion in the account settings. A lower limit takes effect straight away; raising one is deliberately slowed by a cooling-off delay. Use them before your first spin, not after a bad night.

Free and confidential help is available in New Zealand from Gambling Helpline NZ on 0800 654 655, open around the clock, and from the Problem Gambling Foundation of New Zealand, which also supports partners and whanau.
